Our History
My Church: A Home in Christ
My church was born in Ohio with a simple but profound mission: to create a spiritual home for Spanish-speaking people and families who often feel far from home.
In our community, there are many immigrants, Latino families, parents, young people, and children who live between two worlds. Some arrived seeking new opportunities. Others have spent years working, raising their children, and trying to build a stable life. Many love God, but for different reasons, they have felt disconnected from the church, their faith, or a community where they can truly belong.
We know that living in a new country isn't always easy. Language, culture, work, school, paperwork, loneliness, and daily worries can teach a person how to survive, but not always how to rest, heal, or grow.
That is why My Church exists.
We exist to be a home in Christ for those who need community, hope, and a spiritual family. We want every person who comes to us to feel:
“Here I am seen. Here I am welcomed. Here I can draw near to God. Here I belong.”
Our Heart
The heart of My Church is Jesus.
We believe that Jesus sees those who feel invisible, welcomes those who feel distant, and forms a family with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and generations. In Christ, no one has to walk alone.
My church is a community where we speak the language of the heart, honor people's stories, and make space for every family to find faith, friendship, and purpose.
We don't want to be just a place where people come on Sundays. We want to be a family where people are known, cared for, and encouraged to follow Jesus.
We believe that many people aren't looking for just another program. They're looking for a safe place. An open table. A real community. A church where their children can grow, where their questions are welcomed, where their hurts aren't ignored, and where their culture is valued. That's the heart of My Church.
Our Way of Loving and Serving
Our approach is relational, simple, and deeply human.
We believe the church is built on presence, trust, and practical love. That's why we want to walk with people in real life: in their joys, their struggles, their questions, and their needs.
We share a table because in our culture, food is more than just food; it's welcome, conversation, family, and home. When we share a coffee, a meal, or a celebration, we're saying, “Your life matters. Your story matters. There's room for you here.”
We honor each person's story because they carry a different path. Some come with dreams. Others come weary. Some come with strong faith. Others are just beginning to believe again. At My Church, we don't want to rush people or treat them like numbers. We want to listen to them, get to know them, and walk them toward Jesus.
We also believe in serving in practical ways. Faith isn't just words. We want to help families navigate daily life, strengthen marriages, support parents, uplift young people, care for children, and create connections that bring real hope.
Why We Call Ourselves “My Church”
We call ourselves My Church because those words express belonging.
Many people spend a lot of time hearing, directly or indirectly, that they don't belong. They don't belong because of their language. They don't belong because of their accent. They don't belong because of their history. They don't belong because they don't know the system or because they come from another culture.
But the gospel of Jesus tells us something different.
In Christ, we are welcomed.
In Christ, we are family.
In Christ, we have a home.
When someone says “My Church,” our prayer is that they may say it with peace and joy:
“This is my church. This is my place. This is my family.”
My Church is not just a name. It is an invitation to come home.
Our Hope
Our hope is to see entire families find new life in Jesus.
We dream of seeing children growing in faith, young people discovering their identity in Christ, parents finding support, marriages being strengthened, lonely people finding family, and entire communities being transformed by God's love.
We want to be a church where there are no strangers.
A church that opens its arms.
A church that listens before judging.
A church that celebrates Latin culture and clearly preaches Jesus.
A church where the grace of God can be seen, heard, and felt.
My Church exists because we believe that no one should walk alone.
We are a home in Christ for those who are far from home.
We are a family formed by the grace of Jesus.
We are an open table for everyone.
