Meet Our Team

Pastor
Jorge
Pastor Jorge Alvarado is originally from Nicaragua and has recently been called to pastor Mi Iglesia, a faith community created to help Spanish-speaking families find belonging, healing, and hope in Christ.
After years of ministry in Central America and going through a challenging transition to life in the United States, Jorge has experienced firsthand God's faithfulness and how He can give purpose and direction in every new stage of life.
His heart is to walk alongside immigrants and families who often feel invisible or uprooted, helping them discover that in Jesus they are known, loved, and never alone. Through hospitality, discipleship, and authentic community, Jorge longs for My Church to be more than just a place people attend; he wants it to be a spiritual home where they can grow, be supported, and find a family.
Their vision is to build a community of faith where every story is valued, meals are shared with joy, and every person is welcomed with love, grace, and without barriers.

Jon
Jon has walked with the Lord since a young age and has served in full-time ministry for over 25 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Studies and is passionate about inspiring others to connect with God through the creative arts.
He has a decade of experience leading youth ministries in the United States and 15 years of experience as an arts missionary, serving and coordinating arts ministries around the world. Jon knows firsthand what it means to grow up in the United States as a young Hispanic immigrant, as well as to adapt to a new culture after moving to another country as an adult. Therefore, he has a deep compassion for those who experience multiculturalism and cultural adaptation.
Along with his wife, Erika, and their three children, he is excited to be a part of what God is doing through My Church.

Director of Hospitality
Karla
Karla Alvarado is originally from Nicaragua and has faithfully walked alongside her husband, Pastor Jorge Alvarado, for 26 years of marriage, ministry and service, while raising their four children.
After years of ministry in Central America and navigating the challenging transition of settling in the United States, Karla understands firsthand the hardships, loneliness, and courage that often accompany the immigrant experience. Through this process, she has profoundly experienced God's mercy, love, and constant provision.
Her passion for ministry is reflected in her love for serving others, especially through hospitality, cooking, and creating spaces where people feel welcome, valued, and at home. Karla deeply loves Jesus, and her willingness to serve stems from a grateful heart that has been sustained by God's faithfulness and now desires to help others experience that same hope, love, and restoration.
His desire is that every person who comes to My Church finds a spiritual family, a place of belonging, and a constant reminder that God cares for every detail of their lives.
